Biography
Originally from Yorkshire, Peter attended Liverpool University Dental School where he graduated in 2011. After completion of his undergraduate degree, he undertook 3 further training posts in Newcastle and Liverpool.
In 2015 he moved to Manchester and started his speciality training in Restorative Dentistry, developing his interest in periodontics alongside expanding his wider restorative skills. In 2019 he was successful in completing the Membership Examination in Periodontics through the Royal college of Surgeons Edinburgh and in 2020 passed the Intercollegiate Speciality Fellowship Examination in Restorative Dentistry.
Currently he works at the University of Manchester Dental Hospital as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry, where his job plan is focused on the discipline of periodontology. In addition to managing his own patients, he is the clinical lead for the 3 year postgraduate MSc programme in periodontology and also works a day a week privately in a specialist referral practice, with practice limited to periodontology. Whilst undertaking a variety of restorative treatments, Peter’s main focus and interest is in the management of periodontal disease and mucogingival defects. He also has developed an interest in the management of peri-implant disease, visiting the prestigious Frankfurt University to see how Frank Schwarz and his team manage the condition in clinical practice.
